About me, and my first project...

I am a new blogger, so please hang with me. I am inspired by all of the wonderful blogs I have been reading as of late. Hopefully I figure out my style soon, so for now, I will start by telling you a bit about myself.

I have been married to the same wonderful man for the last 28 years!! He is my rock! I have two wonderful daughters, I will call them Sara and Sandy... (no that is not their real names, because I have not gotten their permission to name them as yet.) These two lovely daughters of mine are married to some pretty wonderful men too!! Chancey, and B. They also have some pretty great kids. Oldest daughter, Sara, has a daughter, Tami, age 8 and a son, Brian age 6. She also has two stepchildren, Naomi, age 10 and Brandon age 9. Our youngest daughter, Sandy, has a daughter, she is only 17 months.
I am a stay at home wife, mother, and grandmother. My grandchildren call me NaNa! (a's are long... lol) My hubby is one of the sweetest men I know... but then I am biased too lol. His name is Rob. He has put up with me all these years, and manages to still love me! :D

I love to do all kinds of hobbies, one is to paint. Both signs, and some painting. I will post some of the old stuff at a latter date. I take old pieces of furniture, and make them new, (some are taken apart, and made new, some are just repainted or re purposed.) I just today did a new project which I want to share with you. (Which is the reason for this blog lol)

I am 50 + years of age... my grandkids have a better idea of how old I am, than I do... I have to take year I was born and subtract the year now lol... (I have lied fibbed about my age sooo long... told my kids I was 10 for so long I really did forget) Some say that is just something I am denying... which is probably right! :D I am usually a very happy person, really love to have fun. I don't like housework... but I do it. I love to rearrange my rooms, the furniture that is.

We live in an old farmhouse in rural Kansas. Have a dog, Noel, she is a Akita, Australian Shepherd mix. She guards our house, and runs the roost around here. We have cats, usually at least twenty, but now due to either too many coyotes, or the cars driving down our road, we are down to two outside cats. And just one inside cat, she is a Siamese cat, thinks she is the queen of everything... including our bed! lol. Go figure. We have a two acre yard, that we have to mow, and I try to add beauty to, (planting lots of flowers). The only problem to that is... my hubby loves to mow... alot!! And if I am not careful, he mows them off. lol.

So much about me for now, I will add more at a later time. Thought I would share my first project.
I was inspired by Crafting Rebellion: Easy Chunky Chic Cuffs, and her beautiful Cuff Bracelets!! (Check them out! Lovely!!) So I made my own.
I love it!! Although I do have to say I made a few mistakes. My cuff started out black, and I used Gorilla crazy glue to glue it to the cuff, and got some unwanted glue in the wrong place. So to fix my mistake, I decided to use sandpaper to get the glue off, and in the process ended up taking some of the black finish off. So then to fix that... I lightly sanded the in a cross hatch pattern, the whole bracelet. Copper came through the black, for this result.

and this is what it looks like on!
My first creation! Sweeeeet!!

Nice to meet you all, hope you have a wonderfully blessed day! I know I have!!

  4. Debi,

I am so sure I entered a comment here the other day after seeing your bracelet post at a link party. Not sure why it didn't show up. I think when I use the Google account it sometimes messes up. Anyway, welcoming to blogging. I'm sure you'll have so much fun sharing all the cool things you do with us. That is a very pretty bracelet. I like how you switched over to Plan B to fix the unwanted glue. Totally can relate to it. Happy blogging.
