SPRING is at my House ~Yippppieeee~

~Hello All~

Hope your  enjoying some beautiful weather today too.

It is already 70 degrees here, sun is shining bright!

Wind is blowing about 30 mph lol...

But still a BEAUTIFUL day.
SPRING!!!

lol, no not the fake kind like these

I have hard at work this morning...

I managed to get my morning started by going outside

getting my gardening gloves on

and pulling weeds...

yes this yucky nasty stuff came out of my flowerbeds :(

sad that it was in there last year, 

but I spent alot of time traveling back and forth to Cali

last year to see my daughter and granddaughter...

So this year I have vowed to do a better job with them!
(flowerbeds lol.)

Here is one side of my porch with flowerbed in front...

(the rest of this yucky brown color is what is left of my mulch lol)

It looks much better with all those nasty weeds (grass) gone!!!

my problem with the grass is

it is fescue...

hubby mows, the seeds end up in my flowerbeds, 

and I end up with grass...

(anyone with any tips on how to keep grass out would be greatly appreciated!!)

The south side of porch has much more room...

The grinding wheel belonged to Rob's  grandfather..

sooo when his mom moved from her house into a smaller place,

he got it, and it found it's new home in my flowerbed...

I just LOVE it!! 

in both of these flowerbeds you will find

day lilies, iris', other plants scattered in the two

are tulips, jonquils, daffodils, star flowers, a rose,

a lilac bush, hibiscus (pink), and hollyhocks!

I adore all of these plants...

 this is same flowerbed... looking all  different directions lol.  Yes it even has a bench in the south east corner... 

it needs some tlc this year!

I have also been trying to find a way to have bird feeders that the wind

doesn't play havoc with...

these not sooo adorable feeders... stink!!!

Rob filled them yesterday for me, 

and due to wind... they are empty already!!

So I came up with this idea..

and hung my basket here...
the front one is bird feeder...
(which I left the moss covering for the basket to plant in...)
soo the birds could use it to build there nests.
Back one, I will plant some annuals in
as soon as no chance of frost...
(hopefully I can hold off that long! Antsy to fill it!!! lol)
 the birds have ALREADY found it!!

as usual... its the blue jays first lol

But can't wait for the others to find..

this little fellow had a good time at the feeder,

(which I missed the shot, lol but got this one..)

being a show off!! lol

I just love to watch the birds... can't wait for the humming birds to come!!

I thought while I was outside,

I would show a few shots of front porch...

no its not anything to write home about... 

roof is sagging (needs tlc like everything around here)

but this is a working farm,

with Rob holding down a job besides,

soooo not everything gets done like it should all the time.

:-(

Anyhoo... 

this is just the north side of porch...
as the other side has alot of my to do items stored there lol
just tooo messy for me to admit to for now lol

I don't know what all you can see, so I will show you some closer shots..

 yes my porch has two doors...
the front door leads to the living room...
why you ask...
this is actually two house put together on one foundation.... our house was moved from town... two different ones, from two different spots, and put together to make one bigger house... the one with the living room door... USED to have an upstairs... but when Rob, his dad and friends tore off the old roof, they tore off the upstairs... MEN!!
We have a set of stairs leading to the attic... (nowhere land!! lol) But this is a story for another post...

Back to the front porch...

my bench I made from twin bed headboard and foot board...

I made this several years ago... and put storage in it....

where I store my tiles for future projects... don't pay any attention to the dirt lol please!!

and this is the grandchildrens bench... across from my bench...

it is made with a hodge podge of things..
foot board, legs from a foot stool, and a raw choppin block 

left side of front door... mirror so you can check your makeup before you knock on my door... hahaha

when they were too little to reach the door, that is how we fixed it so they could get in when they were outside with the dog as their babysitter...

Re-Vamped my blog

WOW two posts in one day lol

As I wrote earlier tonight, I have been laid up... 

since Sunday.

 Tonight, after posting,

I have been bored, cause I can't do much.

Soooo I changed alot of things about my blog.

You will notice the background change,

this fits me... better! (Smiles!!)

(Sighs) and hopes it easy to read too.

I can't wait to get some of this mess outside from the winter

alllll gone.

For those that don't know about the Kansas wind,

well, lets just say,

I think it blows everyday! 

But anyway, I have a list about as long as my arm to get accomplished

tomorrow, so I should probably get off of here,

and get some sleep. :-) 

But can't be upset...

Sorry all my lovely bloggers...

I have been laid up...

I feel on Sunday afternoon...

Bruised the daylights out of my knee,

then Sunday nite started the sore throat.

Between the knee, 

not wanting to work... throbbing like crazy...

I have been laying taking it easy... 

with ice and heat.

Then woke up Monday morn, 

with the CRUD!!

No fun!!!
Beautiful weather, and feeling LOUSY!!

Silver lining... :D

I went outside for a while this afternoon

to absorb some beautiful sun!!
Weather here was 72 degrees.

So I set on my front porch, 

and had a drink of OJ...

Hopefully tomorrow
I will feel alot better, so

I can clean my flowerbeds...

weed and feed them,

and some other stuff

before it rains tomorrow nite!!

Lit Bit more about My Life...

I thought for this Friday post... seeing as I didn't get my project done...

as this sweet lovable hubby of mine, and I ran away for the day...

sorry no pics, but I will include some of days gone by...

PaPa with our littlest monkey... Lilian

We took off today, and went to Chiropractors, but then spent the rest of the day...

with each other!! So grand to get a day with just us!

We didn't do anything special, just a relaxing day in each others company. 

Rob took me to lunch at Applebee's where we ate a light lunch... and chatted. :D

Then we checked out Tractor Supply... where he bought his lovely wife, 

two pairs of gardening gloves...

got to love a man that will go in looking for a book on his Allis Chambers Tractor,

and come out with gloves for his spouse! 

(he bought me two sets, cuz when grands grab  a pair, I still have one lol)

Then we come home, and both took a nap... 

Sit around watching TV this evening.

Nothing special, but a WONDERFUL day none the less...

I promised to tell you more about my life...

or should I say, I decided instead of boring  me...

I would tell you more about my blessed family!

Our oldest daughter Sara lost her job a few months ago.

She has been looking, but to no avail...

So being the girl with lots of initiative.... 

She started a cleaning houses for others! :D
Got to love a girl with so much go get em!!

Naomi, and Brandon are Connors,

I bet you guessed it by now!!

Our youngest daughter Sandy, and her hubster, Barry.

They live in California for the time being...

Sandy is a stay at home mom for now..

but she was also taking classes to become a pharmist tech.

She has since graduated!!!! YIPPIE! WTG girl!

And waiting to take her state boards.

The whole family is scheduled to come home in December this year!
(So I will be taking some trips out there again this year! lol

got to have my baby fix!! Of course got to see them all! Miss them terribly!)

I don't have pics of Naomi, Brandon, Connor, and Barry... at least not on my laptop...

But promise to get some taken SOON!!

Although Barry has to be the most camera shy person I know!! lol

Doors cover-up... & Plea for help!!

I do hope you all have a had a wonderful day filled with lots of projects, and some pretty awesome peeps. I have been a busy little beaver today. 

I managed to get all of my planned housework done.
Managed to cook my hubby some dinner,

and get him feed.

For those you that don't know, 

my hubby works some pretty long hours in his job.

He is a salary employee,

so his bosses seem to take advantage of this...

His day starts at 4:30 am.

Gets up, makes his first cup of coffee.

(our youngest daughter, Sandy got him a Kerig for Christmas

which Rob just loves!! No more waiting for that first cup!)

(If you look real close, you can see some of my photo wall above Kerig lol)

Don't you just love my box for all the coffees and teas!!
Love that they are all now contained!! lol

Takes care of morning business, logs on puter for a bit.

Checks his emails, does a couple of searches...

mostly auctions lol

The goes and takes his shower, dressed and ready for work.

(in less time than I can... 45 minutes from wake up to leave...)

He reports to work after his short drive to work...

by 5:30 am.

He doesn't leave work until 9 pm most nites.

Because of this I don't do much cooking.

(one I have never learned how to cook for less than 6!

He used to eat twice what all of us girls ate, 

and then take left overs to work, or that was my lunch.)

I don't cook for myself, and I try to eat no later than 5 pm.

(Dieting!! GRRRR!! lol)

So due to that, I don't cook much anymore...

But tonite I cooked!! lol

We had spaghetti, with sauce and Italian Sausages.

I know nothing special, but one Robs favorite meals.

(Did I mention that he grew up in a family of 10?
lol, so he is used to having food have to go farther to feed them all!)

Anyhow, I also managed to get my basement project 

which is actually what this blog is about...

Doors Cover-Up done!!

This is what I had the other day... dirty doors, and windows... lol

some garage sale items!! 

And I don't want anyone to see...

rid of all the junk someone else's treasures soon!! lol

But sooo happy to have this part done.

I am also going to spray paint the screen with a wonderful saying...

to help you not see the Junk treasures behind it...

I also have two old baby beds, that I need some ideas 

of what to turn them into, 

since the regs for baby use have changed.

One is my hubby's old baby bed,

other is grandsons.

So I really don't want to get rid of them,

just want to re purpose...

Any help anyone can offer I would really appreciate...

If I knew how I would do a link party for baby bed ideas...
