Doors cover-up... & Plea for help!!

I do hope you all have a had a wonderful day filled with lots of projects, and some pretty awesome peeps. I have been a busy little beaver today. 

I managed to get all of my planned housework done.
Managed to cook my hubby some dinner,

and get him feed.

For those you that don't know, 

my hubby works some pretty long hours in his job.

He is a salary employee,

so his bosses seem to take advantage of this...

His day starts at 4:30 am.

Gets up, makes his first cup of coffee.

(our youngest daughter, Sandy got him a Kerig for Christmas

which Rob just loves!! No more waiting for that first cup!)

Don't you just love my box for all the coffees and teas!!
Love that they are all now contained!! lol

Takes care of morning business, logs on puter for a bit.

Checks his emails, does a couple of searches...

mostly auctions lol

The goes and takes his shower, dressed and ready for work.

(in less time than I can... 45 minutes from wake up to leave...)

He reports to work after his short drive to work...

by 5:30 am.

He doesn't leave work until 9 pm most nites.

Because of this I don't do much cooking.

(one I have never learned how to cook for less than 6!

He used to eat twice what all of us girls ate, 

and then take left overs to work, or that was my lunch.)

I don't cook for myself, and I try to eat no later than 5 pm.

(Dieting!! GRRRR!! lol)

So due to that, I don't cook much anymore...

But tonite I cooked!! lol

We had spaghetti, with sauce and Italian Sausages.

I know nothing special, but one Robs favorite meals.

(Did I mention that he grew up in a family of 10?
lol, so he is used to having food have to go farther to feed them all!)

Anyhow, I also managed to get my basement project 

which is actually what this blog is about...

Doors Cover-Up done!!

This is what I had the other day... dirty doors, and windows... lol

There is one more door to the right of this pic, 

but the vanity in front of it, is covered with

some garage sale items!! 

And I don't want anyone to see...

(So is the bed in the foreground lol)

I promise to show you some pics after I get 

rid of all the junk someone else's treasures soon!! lol

But sooo happy to have this part done.

I am also going to spray paint the screen with a wonderful saying...

to help you not see the Junk treasures behind it...

I also have two old baby beds, that I need some ideas 

of what to turn them into, 

since the regs for baby use have changed.

One is my hubby's old baby bed,

other is grandsons.

So I really don't want to get rid of them,

just want to re purpose...

Any help anyone can offer I would really appreciate...

If I knew how I would do a link party for baby bed ideas...

so I am having to learn how to use the mouse on my laptop. lol

(remember I am an OLD lady... so this really fun!!)

I keep clicking on my mouse expecting it to work... REALLY FUNNY! 

Especially when you see my face lol.

Back to what the topic of this post is.. 

Yesterday...

I worked all day yesterday on my basement...
(the hole)

I did remember to take some before and after pics...

pardon the mess you all!

This is before!

This set of doors, hide my storage...

(don't look at the dirty window... got to wipe it down! lol)

and is what I build years ago to use beside my bed... 

as a nightstand.

I know... glass stuff is all for sale..

don't you just love YARD SALES?! 

(one coming up at my house!!)

this is what it turned out like...

Turned desk... folding doors...

Hiding all the junk...

Weeeell, not really... soooo....

I used some of this lovely wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby...

and added the tin picture... 

and VOILLLLA!!! 

All is hidden from that side.

But as you can see still have to do other side...

(It got late... 2 am. late)

It is now my  blogging station... as you can tell by all

of the goodies, remote, phones, and my Pepsi!!! lol.

If you look really close at the computer screen, 

you can tell that I am blogging now! lol

I promise to add another pic of the whole thing when all done. 

I have two projects for later this week...

one...

I am going to turn this old sewing machine cabinet...

you can see the hole for the sewing machine.

Into.... 

ohhh but you have to wait to see.

I will have it done on Friday!

Today's post (March 6)

Two...

My wonderful little find!!
I drove for two hours (there and back)

to pick up this sweet chest, (Nightstand)

the sweet part is...

I only paid...

(drum roll please!!!)
$7.00

and no I am NOT counting the gas!!!!! lol

I have an idea of what she will will look like, but have to wait a bit.

She is going into my basement TV room.

I also promise to show you pics of the whole thing all done!
I just have to spend about another week cleaning down here!! LOLOLOL.

(And have Sara and Sandy) come get their stuff out of my basement! lol)

The weekend...monkeys, and a project!!

Had a very good weekend! I got to spend it with the grandkids, Tami and Brian. 

Love this pic of them!! I have always called them "my little Monkeys!!"

Sara was sick, and the kids didn't want to catch the flu... the really yucky one where your tummy isn't just upset, but Sara said she had some REALLY BAD pains! 

So they got to come and spend time with NaNa!! I loved every insane minute!!

  PaPa brought home pizza for supper. 

I had called it in, and order double meat on our Taco & Supreme Pizzas, he brought them in and handed them to me, saying "feel these!"

 O MY, they were HEAVY!!! 

But boy oh boy, hubby usually eats three to four pieces, lol, he ate his one, and what was left of Brian's... AND was STUFFED!!! lol. 

I ate one!!!  

Brian didn't even eat a full half of one lol. (Course he is the picky eater around here lol) 

We stayed up late, played wii, and eat a bit of junk food, Brian more than the rest of us... lol, wouldn't have anything to do with the idea, he didn't eat much dinner??? 

They went to bed about 11 pm. I stayed awake to make sure they were sound asleep... reading my book, and before I knew it was 2 am lol. 

Hubby was a reaaaalll sweetie, he let me sleep in til 10 this morn. The kids didn't wake up til 9:30!!! And mom calls to see how they are doing at 8 this morn, told her still sleeping!! She told me they "NEVER" sleep late for her... (Grandma privilege :D ) 

         We had another fun day today... played Curious George Uno... which everyone had a chance at winning... and losing. :D 

Then we played old maid!! Which was hilarious!!

 Brian thought he was winning cause he had the lucky card!! Til Tami took it away, and found out that it was actually the unlucky card!! 

I just love to watch them when they figure out how things are what they thought... 

he was doing what he called the "Lucky dance, when Tami got it!! 

Well, needless to say... NaNa ended up being the one to lose.... being as she is "OLD' already... they both thought that was pretty fitting lol. :D 

Love it when we have a good day with no fighting!!

Here is my candler...

I got it a few years ago for Christmas from my mom.

It was being neglected in the basement.

I had found it the other day and was wondering what to do with it...

I thought when I got it I would put it outside,

but today after the kids went home, 

I thought it would look great above my dining room table!

I added the crystals, of all different sizes and shapes.

Added red ones to make it stand out... 

and used some of my grandmothers beads to string together, 

and made some chains.

Took some old candle votive and added the bigger ones,,,

which I found on a jaunt to my daughters in CA.

Got about 50 of these clear ones for $7.00!!

(Score!!!) 

Can't wait to fire it up!!

I love it!!!! Awesome!!!

Hoping tomorrow will be a more productive day...

Some more organizing!! lol
